Lip fillers
Fuller yet natural lips
The dreaded look of overfilled lips and the so-called ‘duck lips’ is not something you will see on clients at Dikrama Clinics. Our doctors prove that lip fillers can be done subtly. When enhancing the lips, our doctors always look at the overall facial balance, with the mouth as an eye-catcher.
Whatever the reason behind your wish for fuller lips, you will always work with the doctor to see what best suits your face. The shape of a mouth is genetically determined; we will never completely deviate from your natural shape when filling the lips. All options are discussed during a free consultation.

The process of hyaluronic acid filler treatment
-
Before the treatment
Start taking Arnica drops 5 days before the treatment (10 drops, 3x per day) to help prevent bruising.
-
After the treatment
The injected area can be cooled after the treatment; cool packs are available at the clinic. Exercise is not permitted for up to four hours after the treatment. On the day of the treatment: no makeup on the injected area, no alcohol. Do not massage the injected skin. Do not use the sauna for up to three days after the treatment. Do not undergo intensive facial (skincare) treatments, such as lasers, peelings, or scrubs, in the first two weeks.
-
Recovery time
For the first few days after getting lip fillers, you may experience bruising and swelling in the lips. The swelling often lasts 2-3 days, and any bruising can be camouflaged.
-
Result duration
The result of lip fillers with a hyaluronic acid filler often lasts six to nine months the first time. As the treatment is repeated more often, the results may last longer.
Safety
Hyaluronic acid is one of the building blocks of the skin. It ensures better hydration and elasticity. The body recognizes hyaluronic acid, making the chance of an allergic or foreign body reaction to a hyaluronic acid filler extremely small. If a small lump or asymmetry occurs in the face after the treatment, there is no cause for concern. This can usually be massaged away easily. Furthermore, hyaluronic acid is the only filler that can be actively dissolved. We provide everyone with a tailored result and can dissolve any excess filler with Hyason if necessary.
The doctors at Dikrama Clinics are BIG-registered (members of the NVDV, NVCD, and NHG) and only use premium brand dermal fillers. Safety is one of the most important criteria we use to select our fillers. The brands used at Dikrama Clinics have been on the market for decades, and 5-40 million treatments have already been performed with these brands. These large numbers indicate that the chance of unexpected complications is very small. Additionally, our doctor Petra Dikrama has experience treating filler complications at the complication (filler) clinic at Erasmus MC.
Frequently asked questions
Due to the mobility of the lips, there is a very small chance of lumps forming. These are usually so small that they are not visible. These lumps also disappear on their own. However, if any irregularities are bothersome, our doctors can dissolve them with a dissolving agent.
Our doctors never treat with too much product. We always work according to the ‘less is more’ philosophy. The lip border may curl slightly during the first two to three days due to temporary swelling. This swelling disappears after a few days.
After 1-2 weeks, the lips are fully recovered and will feel soft to the touch.
The advantage of hyaluronic acid fillers is that they can be dissolved with Hyason.
There is always a chance of bruising after the treatment. Fortunately, this is not the case for everyone. Any bruises will disappear on their own after a few days. You may also camouflage them with makeup the day after the treatment.
0.5 milliliters of lip filler costs €295, 1 milliliter costs €500.
