Sculptra
The long-acting collagen boost from within
Sculptra® is an innovative collagen stimulator that activates the natural production of collagen in the skin. This treatment addresses the root cause of skin aging and helps your skin regain firmness, structure, and elasticity. The result? A natural-looking, youthful appearance that lasts. Sculptra® perfectly aligns with the philosophy of Dikrama Clinics: working towards healthy and radiant skin in a responsible and effective way.
What makes Sculptra® unique is that it doesn’t just address the symptoms of skin aging, but tackles the cause at its core. By stimulating natural collagen production from within, the skin regains its firmness, volume, and elasticity. The result is a gradual but long-lasting rejuvenation with a visibly tighter, fresh, and natural look.
What is your skin telling you about collagen loss?
Skin that feels less firm, fine lines that become visible when you laugh, or cheeks that slowly lose their volume. These are subtle changes that often occur because the natural production of collagen decreases over the years.
Collageen forms an important part of your skin’s supporting structure. As this structure changes, the skin can lose firmness and elasticity. With the simple skin firmness test, you can discover some visible and tangible signs that may indicate this.
Sculptra helps your skin strengthen itself. Thanks to poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), natural collagen production is stimulated. This allows the skin to gradually become firmer and can improve skin structure and facial contours.
The result develops step by step and can last for up to two years. No sudden change, but a subtle improvement that matches your natural appearance.

About the treatment
The treatment is very straightforward. The doctors at Dikrama Clinics inject Sculptra® into the skin, where it does its work by activating the natural collagen process. The product spreads gradually and provides more firmness, tightening, and volume step by step.
In the face, we distribute the product precisely over different zones: such as the cheekbones, jawline, or temples.
Usually, 2 or 3 sessions are needed, with an interval of 8 weeks, for the best result.
Sculptra is a subtle but powerful treatment that provides a long-lasting improvement in skin structure and contours for up to two years after treatment. It is suitable for almost everyone. Whether you want to work preventatively on skin aging or regain volume and firmness. The treatment fits perfectly with different skin types and can be effortlessly combined with other techniques, such as fillers and skin-improving treatments.
At Dikrama Clinics, we work according to the philosophy: less is often more. Sculptra fits this perfectly. No excess, but refined rejuvenation with a lasting natural effect.

The course of the Sculptra treatment
-
Before the treatment
Anesthesia is not necessary for a Sculptra treatment. For extra comfort, we apply a fast-acting numbing spray to the skin beforehand. Want to reduce the chance of bruising? You can start taking Arnica drops (10 drops 3x daily) about five days in advance. This is not mandatory but can support a smooth recovery.
-
After the treatment
After the injection, we carefully massage the injected area to distribute the product well. We have Coolpacks in the clinic to cool your skin. Exercise is not allowed for up to four hours after the treatment. On the day of the treatment: no makeup on the injected area. Do not use the sauna for up to three days after the treatment. The 5-5-5 rule applies after the treatment. You gently massage the skin for 5 minutes at five different times throughout the day. And you do this for 5 days. This supports the optimal effect of Sculptra.
-
Recovery time
A treatment with Sculptra® leaves little to no trace. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be somewhat red and swollen. This usually disappears within a few hours. There is also a small chance of a bruise. You may camouflage this with makeup the day after the treatment.
It is not necessary to take time off work or avoid social activities for a Sculptra® treatment.
-
Result duration
On average, you can enjoy the subtle and long-lasting results of this treatment for 1 to 2 years. The duration of the effect varies per person. We recommend repeating the treatment 2 to 3 times at the beginning with an interval of about 8 weeks to optimally stimulate collagen production. After that, a maintenance treatment once a year is usually sufficient. More often is, of course, always allowed. This way, you enjoy the natural results of Sculptra® for the longest time.
Safety
Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid, a safe and biodegradable substance that has been used in medicine for years (e.g., in dissolvable stitches). It stimulates the skin to produce new collagen itself, which provides firmness, volume restoration, and a natural rejuvenating effect.
Although Sculptra does not contain hyaluronic acid, it is very well tolerated and the body’s own collagen is built up gradually. As a result, the chance of allergic reactions is small. Any small irregularities after the treatment can often be massaged away easily.
Sculptra cannot be dissolved, unlike a hyaluronic acid filler. Therefore, it is extra important that you are treated by an experienced doctor.
At Dikrama Clinics, we only work with BIG-registered practitioners (members of NVDV, NVCD, and NHG) with years of experience. We only treat with A-brands that have proven their safety and effectiveness worldwide for years. Safety and customization are our top priorities.
Frequently asked questions
Sculptra® is a collagen-stimulating anti-aging agent consisting of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance that has been used safely in medicine for years. Instead of adding volume directly like a filler, Sculptra works by prompting the skin to produce its own collagen. This process gradually restores the skin’s firmness, elasticity, and structure.
It addresses skin laxity from within in a subtle and natural way. The result builds up slowly and often remains visible for up to two years.
With Sculptra, you can treat many zones on the face (especially the cheeks, jawline, temples, and marionette lines) and the neck. In addition, Sculptra is also suitable for areas such as the décolletage, upper arms, abdomen, and even the buttocks, where it firms and improves the skin through collagen stimulation.
Instead of adding volume directly, Sculptra activates your skin to gradually regain firmness, elasticity, and volume. This makes it ideal for natural contour improvement without looking ‘filled’. What is also new: Sculptra can also be applied to other zones, such as the neck, décolletage, upper arms, abdomen, and buttocks.
Anyone from about 30 years old who notices that their face or body is starting to lose some volume and firmness, and wants to restore or slow this down in a natural way. We advise against this treatment if you have a connective tissue disorder, such as scleroderma.
Sculptra has been on the market since the early 2000s and is widely used worldwide. It has been improved over the years; serious side effects are rare and almost never occur when used correctly by an experienced doctor.
Possible side effects of a treatment with Sculptra® include mild swelling, redness, or a bruise at the injection site. These reactions usually arise from the injection itself, and not from the product. This is because Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a substance naturally broken down by the body that has been used safely in medicine for decades, for example in dissolvable stitches.
