Gummy Smile
The gummy smile
Visible gum tissue when smiling is also known as a gummy smile. This is congenital and often visible from a young age. If you are bothered by seeing too much of your gums when you smile, a Botox treatment can be a solution.
The Botox treatment for a gummy smile takes only 5 minutes and is therefore rightly called a “lunchtime treatment.” Two small injections are made on either side of the nose, relaxing the muscles that pull the upper lip upward. This results in a natural smile without the gums being exposed.

A natural result
At Dikrama Clinics, we stand for a natural result. The overly tightened faces in the media and glossy magazines are not a reflection of our clientele. The doctors at Dikrama Clinics take a close look at all your wishes and possibilities before giving personal advice that fits the natural features of your face. We prefer to start with one zone of Botox to let you calmly get used to the effect before treating multiple zones, if desired. “Less is more” is our motto.

Botulinum Toxin or Botox is an extremely safe medication. Botulinum Toxin falls under the Medicines Act; before the product was admitted to the market, years of research were conducted into its effectiveness, side effects, and complications. Frequently asked questions
On the contrary! Because you haven’t used the muscles responsible for pulling up your upper lip for a while, they have become less active after the Botox wears off. If you do not repeat the treatment, the muscle will gradually become just as active as it was before the treatment.
As with any Botulinum Toxin treatment, other muscles near the treated area can be affected, which may temporarily cause a slight asymmetry of the mouth during movement. This can often be corrected, but occasionally you may have to wait a few weeks until this asymmetry disappears.
Yes, it will. Your gums will be less visible when you smile.
You can eat and drink as usual; the treatment has no effect on this.
