Frown lines
An open look thanks to Botox injections
A frown line is simply a groove or line between the eyebrows, caused by the contraction of muscles. Besides genetics, factors like frequent screen use and squinting against sunlight have a major influence on developing frown lines.
Is the groove between your eyebrows clearly visible even with a neutral facial expression, giving your face an unnecessarily stern look?
A frown line treatment with Botox injections can offer a solution.
We treat frown lines with Botulinum Toxin (Botox), and the most suitable treatment is chosen based on the depth of the groove. This could, for example, be a combination of Botox and a filler. During a free consultation, you and the doctor will look for the best treatment for your face.
For many people, a frown line treatment has a lifting effect on the eyebrows. The frown muscles normally pull the eyebrows not only together but also downwards when they contract; if you let these muscles relax with a Botox treatment, it also provides a small lift. If you want even more lift for your eyebrows, an eyebrow lift is one of the options.
This creates a beautiful open, rested, and fresh look.

The frown line treatment
A frown line treatment with Botox doesn’t take much time, and before you know it, you’ll be back outside with a beautiful, fresh look within a few days. It is possible to schedule a Botox treatment during your lunch break. Upon arrival, photos are taken, and after you have completed a health declaration and treatment agreement, the treatment can begin. The frown line treatment consists of five to seven small injections into the muscles of the frown area.
The process of the Botox frown line treatment
-
Before the treatment
The area around the frown is thoroughly disinfected before the start of the Botox treatment, and the injection points are marked by the doctor.
-
After the treatment
For two hours after a Botox treatment, you must NOT lie down.
Exercise is not permitted for up to four hours after treatment. Exercise also includes mindfulness practices such as yoga and pilates. The treated area should not be massaged for a while, but it is wise to flex the treated muscle a few times immediately after the treatment so that it is absorbed faster and better by the muscle.
For the frown treatment, you should therefore look stern and angry a few times right after the procedure. -
Recovery time
Redness, bruising, or slight swelling rarely occurs with the frown treatment; experience shows that in almost most cases, nothing is visible at the treated site.
-
Duration of results
After the first treatment, you will enjoy the results for three to four months. If you come more often, this period may increase to an average of five to six months. The exact duration of the result is personal because no two bodies are the same.
Safety
Botulinum Toxin or Botox is an extremely safe medicine. Botulinum Toxin falls under the Medicines Act; before the product was admitted to the market, years of research were conducted into its effectiveness, side effects, and complications. Botox has been used in the medical world for more than forty years for things like muscle spasms. Furthermore, the doctors at Dikrama Clinics have years of experience using this product and will always inject it in the correct way and in the right amount.
