Eye bags
From tired to awake
Eye bags and dark circles under the eyes give your face a tired appearance.
Thinning of the skin is part of the aging process. If you have a slender build and little facial fat, this process can occur more quickly. This can result in dark circles due to hollow tear troughs and subsequent shadows under the eyes. Structures under the skin may also show through. Heredity also plays a role in the development of eye bags. When your eye bags do not retain excessive fluid and the skin around the eyes is not too loose, a treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers can offer a solution.
It is important to know the cause of your eye bags to determine if you are a candidate for filler treatment.
During a free, no-obligation consultation with one of our doctors, you will review your situation together and receive tailored advice so you can make an informed decision.
Sometimes it is also necessary to fill and/or firm the area around the eye bags for optimal results.
The filler is injected using a cannula or a small needle, which minimizes the risk of bruising.

About the treatment
The treatment can begin after a health declaration and treatment agreement have been signed.
The doctor uses an ultra-thin needle for this treatment to prevent bruising and ensure you recover quickly.
The process of hyaluronic acid filler treatment
-
Before the treatment
To prevent bruising, you can start taking Arnica drops five days before the treatment (10 drops, 3 times a day).
-
After the treatment
The injected area may be cooled with cool packs available at the clinic.
Exercise is not permitted for up to four hours after the treatment.
We advise you not to use makeup on the treated area and to avoid alcohol on the day of the treatment.
Do not massage the injected skin. Avoid saunas for up to three days after the treatment.
Do not undergo invasive facial treatments, such as lasers, peels, scrubbing, etc., in the first two weeks. -
Recovery time
After a filler treatment, some bruising and swelling may occur. The swelling can last for a few days. Any bruising can be camouflaged with makeup the day after the treatment. The result can be assessed after about two weeks. We will schedule a follow-up appointment with you.
-
Duration of results
The result of filling the eye bags with a filler is best visible after two weeks. You can enjoy your refreshed look for an average of nine to twelve months.
Safety
Hyaluronic acid is one of the building blocks of the skin. It ensures better hydration and elasticity. The body recognizes hyaluronic acid, making the chance of an allergic or foreign body reaction to a hyaluronic acid filler extremely small. If a small accumulation or asymmetry occurs in the face after the treatment, you don’t need to worry. This can usually be massaged away easily. Furthermore, hyaluronic acid is the only filler that can be actively dissolved. We provide you with a customized result and can dissolve any excess filler with Hyason if necessary.
The doctors at Dikrama Clinics are BIG-registered (members of the NVDV, NVCD, and NHG) and only use A-brand wrinkle fillers.
Safety is one of the most important criteria we use to select our wrinkle fillers. The brands Dikrama Clinics uses have been on the market for decades, and 5-40 million treatments have already been performed with these brands. These large numbers indicate that the chance of unexpected complications is very small. Additionally, Petra Dikrama has experience treating filler complications at the filler complication clinic at Erasmus MC.

Frequently asked questions
Very occasionally, temporary product accumulation can occur after injecting a filler into the eye bags. The chance of this is very small, as our doctors prefer to inject too little rather than too much filler. “Less is more” is the motto. Additionally, the doctors at Dikrama Clinics only use hyaluronic acid fillers. Should product accumulation occur, it can always be dissolved during the follow-up appointment.
Fluid can build up if the filler is injected too close to the fluid membrane. However, the doctors at Dikrama Clinics have so much experience with this treatment that this complication is very rare. We always ensure sufficient depth of the injection.
The price of a filler treatment for just filling the circles under the eyes is €600.
If the circles are filled in combination with filling the area around the eyes, the price depends on the number of milliliters of filler required. This will, of course, be discussed with you in advance.
Before the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the skin. If a cannula is used for the injection, the injection site can also be numbed with a local anesthetic. After this, the treatment is virtually painless.
