Fillers
Fillers were originally intended to restore natural body shape after a surgical procedure; a medical purpose.
The fillers used by the doctors at Dikrama Clinics are made of hyaluronic acid. This substance occurs naturally in our bodies, with about 50% of hyaluronic acid found in the skin’s connective tissue.
Hyaluronic acid is highly water-binding; one molecule can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. It serves as a shock absorber and lubricant for our joints, nerves, hair, skin, and eyes. Fillers are also very suitable for addressing volume loss in the face. The filler liquid is injected under the skin, attracts moisture, and holds it in the area to be filled. This is how volume is restored.
Because hyaluronic acid is a substance natural to the body, the fillers are eventually broken down by the body over time. At Dikrama Clinics, you don’t have to worry about an overfilled ‘Hollywood face’; we prefer to use a bit less product over multiple sessions to achieve the result that suits you best and looks as natural as possible.
You can visit Dikrama Clinics for filler treatments for areas including under-eye bags, lips, temples, and cheeks. Jawline and nose corrections can also be performed using fillers, without the need for surgery!
In certain cases, fillers can be used together with Botox for optimal results.

Frequently Asked Questions
We use fillers to fade lines and wrinkles in the face, reduce the well-known lines around the mouth, make under-eye bags and dark circles disappear, create fuller lips, and reshape facial contours.
Injectables is a collective term for products injected with a needle. Botulinum Toxin (botox) and fillers are products with completely different effects. Botox relaxes the muscles, which also relaxes the skin. A filler fills the skin, for example under wrinkles, but also in lips, cheeks, and cheekbones.
To reduce the very small chance of bruising, we advise you (if possible and in consultation with your doctor) to stop taking blood-thinning medications such as Ibuprofen, Ascal, and Naproxen. It is also advisable to stop taking dietary supplements or fish oil a few days before the treatment. We also recommend the use of (homeopathic) Arnica drops. You can start these 5 days before the treatment (at the highest dosage indicated on the packaging).
We mainly work with temporary fillers based on hyaluronic acid, such as the brands Restylane, Saypha, and Radiesse. These are all 100% biodegradable products that can also be actively dissolved. We consciously use different brands because each brand has its own strengths. For example, Saypha is very suitable for contouring because it is nice and firm, and Restylane gives a very beautiful result under the eyes or in the lips. Products like Radiesse or Sculptra are used upon request. For each treatment, we determine which brand is most suitable for you, such as Restylane for ‘fine sculpting’ or Saypha for larger volumes. The doctors at Dikrama Clinics only use wrinkle fillers that studies have shown to be effective, safe in the long term, and durable. Safety first!
A filler treatment is quite long-lasting. Depending on the type of filler used, the result remains clearly visible for about nine months to a year. After that, the result slowly diminishes. Everyone is different, so this reduction varies per person.
There are many different types of fillers on the market. We mainly work with hyaluronic acid-based fillers. If you have been treated with another temporary filler before, try to find out which product was used. This allows our doctors to properly assess whether one filler will react to another. If permanent fillers were ever used, we advise you to avoid unnecessary risk and not treat the same area again.
Most fillers are based on hyaluronic acid. This is a transparent gel natural to the body. While Botulinum Toxin temporarily relaxes the muscles, causing wrinkles, lines, and frowns to fade, a filler temporarily fills a groove, fold, or wrinkle.
Dikrama Clinics only works with premium hyaluronic acid brands.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance natural to the body found in connective tissue, nerve tissue, epithelial tissue, and the skin. This glucose building block ensures that the skin remains supple and resilient. Tens of millions of treatments have already been performed with the hyaluronic acids in the fillers we use, proving their long-term safety.
No, we do not perform treatments if you are (possibly) pregnant. It has not been proven that fillers can be harmful to the baby, but the opposite has also never been proven. We do not take the risk.
