Migraine
A life without headaches
Migraine has various causes. Unfortunately, to this day, research has not yet shown the exact causes of this severe tension headache we call migraine.
Tensing facial muscles during frequent screen use, stress, and squinting against sunlight can be a possible trigger for migraine symptoms. In many cases, Dikrama Clinics can treat the relevant muscle(s) with Botox, which reduces the migraine symptoms. After the Botox treatment, migraine attacks will decrease in duration, frequency, and intensity.
We only speak of migraine when registered anti-migraine medication provides a reduction in symptoms (we are not referring to Paracetamol or other regular painkillers here).
The symptoms of migraine (nausea, vomiting, and light intolerance) are very diverse and are often experienced as a major hindrance in daily life. A Botox treatment can provide enormous relief and thereby increase the quality of life. A beneficial side effect of this migraine treatment is a reduction of wrinkles in the treated area.

A natural result
At Dikrama Clinics, we stand for a natural result. The overly tightened faces in the media and glossy magazines are not a reflection of our clientele. The doctors at Dikrama Clinics take a close look at all your wishes and possibilities before giving personal advice that fits the natural features of your face. We prefer to start with one zone of Botox to let you calmly get used to the effect before treating multiple zones, if desired. “Less is more” is our motto.
The course of the Botox treatment
-
Before the treatment
If you are visiting Dikrama Clinics for the first time, we will ask you to fill out a medical questionnaire. The doctor then disinfects the area to be injected, and the treatment begins. Only a few Botox injections are needed for the desired result. A Botox treatment for migraine therefore takes very little time. It is certainly possible to schedule a Botox treatment during your lunch break.
-
After the treatment
Exercise is not allowed for up to four hours after the treatment. Please note: you should not lie down for two hours following the Botox treatment.
-
Recovery time
Aside from perhaps some redness and a possible small bruise, there are almost never any visible traces after this Botox treatment for migraine. This is because certain muscles relax due to Botox, while other muscles may sometimes temporarily overcompensate. This is usually only temporary. As the muscles adjust to the new situation, it actually provides overall rest and a reduction in pain symptoms.
Additionally, wrinkles in the treated area may gradually disappear. The result lasts an average of three to four months the first time. -
Result duration
When your muscles have been treated with Botox for migraine, it takes a few days before your headache symptoms decrease. Very occasionally, symptoms may actually get a little worse in the first few days after the Botox treatment. This happens because you cannot move certain muscles, causing other muscles to try to compensate by tensing more. Additionally, the frown line may become less deep after a Botox treatment for migraine. The result lasts an average of three to four months the first time.
Safety
Botulinum Toxin or Botox is an extremely safe medication. Botulinum Toxin falls under the Medicines Act; before the product was admitted to the market, years of research were conducted into its effectiveness, side effects, and complications. Botox has been used in the medical world for more than forty years for things like muscle spasms. Furthermore, the doctors at Dikrama Clinics have years of experience using this product and will always inject it in the correct way and in the right amount.
Botox treatment prices
