Drooping mouth corners
A cheerful face
Drooping mouth corners occur because the muscles that pull the corners of the mouth down during normal facial expressions remain permanently tensed.
When drooping mouth corners change your facial expression in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, a Botox treatment can be a solution.
If there is volume loss and sagging of the skin, a filler treatment or a combination of this with Botox can provide a clear improvement.
During a free and non-binding consultation with one of our doctors, you will be thoroughly informed about the possibilities. Our advice is always customized and tailored to your wishes and the most natural result possible.

A natural result
At Dikrama Clinics, we stand for a natural result. The overly tightened faces in the media and glossy magazines are not a reflection of our clientele. The doctors at Dikrama Clinics take a close look at all your wishes and possibilities before giving personal advice that fits the natural features of your face. We prefer to start with one zone of Botox to let you calmly get used to the effect before treating multiple zones, if desired. “Less is more” is our motto.

Frequently asked questions
Naturally, something changes in the face when the corners of the mouth are treated with Botulinum Toxin. It sometimes happens that someone experiences this as unnatural. Drooping mouth corners often make the facial expression look grumpy, embittered, or dissatisfied. The effect of Botulinum Toxin injections in this zone is that the face gets a softer and more satisfied appearance. That is actually experienced as positive.
On the contrary! Because you haven’t used the muscles responsible for drooping mouth corners for a while, you may actually ‘unlearn’ the use of these muscles a bit.
As with any treatment, there are risks associated with treating the corners of the mouth. Many muscles come together in this area. If another muscle in this area is also affected, it can cause asymmetry of the mouth corner or smile. In most cases, this can be corrected, but in some cases, you have to wait a few weeks.
In most cases, not much changes to your natural smile.
